Nathan Brannen, Chief Product Officer at Restb.ai, has been named a 2026 HousingWire Tech Trendsetter, one of 75 technology leaders recognized for their work to help shape the future of the housing economy. Congratulations to Nathan!
Over more than a decade at Restb.ai, Nathan has helped bring computer vision technology into real estate, appraisal, and valuation. His work has focused on turning property photos into structured data that helps industry professionals better understand a home’s characteristics, condition and quality.
Nathan’s work has played an important role in preparing the housing industry for Uniform Appraisal Dataset (UAD) 3.6, which expands the property data required in appraisal reporting. He drove the product strategy for Restb.ai’s Feature UAD API, which identifies property features, condition, quality and damage from photos and structures those insights in the new reporting format. The technology helps lenders, appraisal management companies and appraisal technology providers streamline data collection and review while reducing manual work for appraisers.
He has also helped expand the property information available through Restb.ai’s products. The company’s visual insights help surface details that may be difficult to capture through public records alone, giving appraisal and valuation professionals additional information to consider when assessing a property.
Following Clear Capital’s acquisition of Restb.ai in May 2026, Nathan has played a key role in bringing the companies’ technologies together. Working alongside Clear Capital’s technology team, including Jason Legare, Executive Vice President of Technology, Nathan helped identify opportunities to combine their capabilities and led the integration strategy to incorporate Restb.ai’s visual intelligence into Clear Capital’s valuation products, including ClearAVM, its automated valuation model. By bringing photo-based condition and quality insights into ClearAVM, the integration adds another layer of property information to support valuation decisions.
Nathan has also worked directly with clients to apply computer vision to appraisal workflows. Through its work with Aivre, Restb.ai’s technology helps automate property characteristic collection, condition and quality assessment, photo classification, floor-plan validation, and comparable selection within a UAD 3.6 appraisal platform. This reduces manual work in preparing appraisal reports and gives appraisers more time to focus on valuation analysis.
What sets Nathan apart is his focus on making visual property data useful beyond the images themselves. His work helps turn information that might otherwise go unrecorded into structured insights that can be used across appraisal and valuation processes.
As the industry adapts, Nathan’s work is helping make computer vision a practical tool for the housing industry, turning property images into information that can support appraisal and valuation decisions. His recognition as a 2026 HousingWire Tech Trendsetter highlights the impact of that work and the role of product innovation in bringing new capabilities to the industry. We also congratulate Jason Legare on his recognition as a fellow 2026 HousingWire Tech Trendsetter and on the collaboration between the two teams. Congrats, Nathan and Jason!
