Clear Capital’s Jason Legare named 2026 HousingWire Tech Trendsetter

By: Clear Capital |

Jason Legare, Executive Vice President of Technology at Clear Capital, has been named a 2026 HousingWire Tech Trendsetter, one of 75 technology leaders recognized for their work to help shape the future of the housing economy. Congratulations to our very own!

Over his 15 years at Clear Capital, Jason has been instrumental in building the technology behind the company’s property valuation workflows, driving confident real estate decisions and strengthening Clear Capital’s relationships with customers and communities. He joined as a software engineer working on appraisal and broker price opinion products before moving into automated data products, application architecture, and engineering leadership. Today, he leads approximately 100 technologists across software engineering, data, machine learning, APIs, and technical operations.

Jason’s work has played a key role in preparing Clear Capital’s platforms and internal teams ahead of Uniform Appraisal Dataset (UAD) 3.6, one of the most significant changes to the appraisal process in decades. In addition to leading the technology updates to support the new format, Jason oversaw integrations with third-party order and fulfillment systems to ensure lenders and customers were fully equipped to operate under the new appraisal format, well ahead of the GSE’s mandate deadline.

He has also been key in helping integrate Restb.ai’s computer vision technology into Clear Capital, focusing on ClearAVM, our automated valuation model, to strengthen the data and technology behind more informed valuation decisions. Over the past year, he led the technology work to prepare Clear Capital’s platform for the new standard months ahead of industry mandates. His efforts helped ensure the richer, standardized appraisal data could move across existing workflows.

Jason has also helped expand the capabilities of Clear Capital’s valuation products, through the integration of Restb.ai’s property image technology. Following Clear Capital’s acquisition of Restb.ai, he brought together software, data and machine learning teams to incorporate property insights from images into the company’s valuation products, including ClearAVM, which now provides a full picture of property characteristics, including condition and quality insights, that are challenging to capture with traditional data alone.

What sets Jason apart is his ability to connect the technical work behind the scenes with the needs of lenders and the broader housing industry. His focus is not just on building new technology, but on making sure it works across existing systems and translates into practical improvements for customers.

As the housing industry continues to modernize, Jason’s work is helping Clear Capital prepare for new standards, make better use of property data, and deliver more informed valuation decisions. His recognition as a 2026 HousingWire Tech Trendsetter reflects the impact of the teams and technology he has helped build over more than a decade at Clear Capital. We also want to congratulate Nathan Brannen, Chief Product Officer at Restb.ai, on his recognition as a 2026 HousingWire Tech Trendsetter. Congratulations to both on this honor!
